Hey there, I’m Kirsten—social worker specialist, clinical mental health counseling grad student, holistic health nerd, future psychologist, and wife to my favorite hiking partner. I’m so glad you’re here!
I started Rooted in Wohl because I was exhausted from trying to do everything “right” and still feeling off balance. I had the degrees, the checklists, and all the right supplements… but what I really needed was wholeness—a wellness journey that nourished my body and my brain and my soul.
And not just mine.
As someone who works with children, families, and individuals facing real-life challenges—stress, burnout, chronic illness, trauma, parenting struggles—I saw a massive gap between mainstream wellness advice and what people actually need. Wellness isn’t a luxury. It’s a lifeline. And it should be simple, accessible, and sustainable.
💛 What “Wohl” Really Means
“Wohl” is the German word for well-being, comfort, goodness, or being at peace.
It felt right because that’s what I want for myself, my future clients, and for you (and I’m mostly German).
Being rooted in wohl means creating a life where your health supports your purpose… not distracts from it. It means saying no to crash diets and “fix yourself” culture, and yes to daily rituals, small shifts, and deep self-trust. It means embracing both natural healing and evidence-based care, without shame or perfectionism.
